This is a picture that I took of the page from “Wait Till Next Year” that has a picture showing a white crowd threatening Elizabeth Eckford as she tries to go to school.

I didn’t put the bracket around the words “the Little Rock Nine” in the caption; that was there when I read the book.

Blind, prejudiced, violent, dehumanizing hatred always looks the same, no matter who is feeling it or expressing it and no matter who the target is.
